UNIBEN gets new Vice Chancellor

A new Vice Chancellor, Prof. Osasere Faradey Orumwense, has been appointed
for the University of Benin (UNIBEN), by the University's Governing
Council.

He will succeed the incumbent Vice Chancellor, Prof. Osayuki Godwin
Oshodin, whose tenure expires November, 30th 2014.

Prof. Orunmwense, who is the current Acting Dean, Faculty of Engineering,
is a professor of Mechanical Engineering. He emerged as successor to Prof.
Osayuki Oshodin after he was said to have scored 78 per cent in an
interview conducted by the Governing Council of the university and came
first among the 18 other candidates, who sat for the interview.

‎The new Vice Chancellor had previously served as Rector of Edo
state-owned Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Usen. Prof.
Orumwense had also served as Administrator of the Ekehuan Campus of the
Institution

The new VC has been tasked by the University's Governing Council and all
other groups to give in his best and achieve more than his predecessor.
