1Billion Lost to Fire in Owerri

Goods and property estimated to cost about N1billion were yesterday consumed by a wild fire that walloped a two-storey building at Lobo Extension,Owerri. Although the fire outbreak claimed no life, but it was gathered that the traders who owned shops where foams were sold were in their respective residences and most occupants of the building had left for Sunday service when the fire started. It was reported that a Volvo station wagon vehicle, vital documents, including certificates and archival artifacts, were lost in the inferno, while many were seen weeping uncontrollably, bemoaning their fate as they recounted their loss.
