Gov.Fashola lashes the FG on its Transformation Agenda

Dr. Babatunde Fashola, the governor of Lagos State bore his mind on the President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration and members of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN). He said their idea of transformation is against every acceptable meaning. The governor said a government that spends an average of 65 percent of its annual national budget on recurrent expenditure in the last four years cannot be adjudged to be transforming the country with a view that greater part of the budget is supposed to be spent on capital expenditure. The governor, advised the government against leading the country to a state of total insecurity, joblessness, poverty, corruption division and lack Detroit in the United States of America. He said for Nigeria to start its journey of true reconstruction, reconciliation and rehabilitation, which all lead to transformation as espoused by the Gowon administration immediately after the civil war, she must collectively rebuild our value system. Fashola spoke at the 2014 Leadership annual conference and awards ceremony organised by Leadership Newspapers yesterday in Abuja. The citizens have not experienced the promises of this nation due to a breach in moral values and if the government wants to boast of transformation of the country, then it must first consider the huge amounts it spend out of the annual budget on recurrent expenditures instead of capital ones. He further said that the promises of Nigeria to her people must be fulfilled whether this crops of politicians like it or not and moral values returned to Nigeria.
